CFQ Healing Meditation Retreat, July 20th-27th 2008.

This will be a residential retreat in the Lake District, which will offer a profound healing experience, and will provide an opportunity to receive a full introduction into CFQ meditation or to deepen greatly an existing practice.

The Course

This will be an open course and there will be no syllabus as such. Master Yap will determine the content of the course and will tailor it to the needs and wishes of the students.

Course participants will need to have attended a CFQ level One workshop. For details of qualified uk instructors, click here.

Group Healing Sessions

There will be a group healing session every day of the course. The cost of these healing sessions is included in the course fee.

The Venue

The retreat is to be held at Rydal Hall, Rydal, Cumbria. It is a most beautiful location situated in one of the most picturesque parts of the Lake District. More details, including location, can be found on www.rydalhall.org . The area is ideal for outdoor recreation, including swimming in a natural pool in the Hall grounds. There is a typical Lakeland pub within easy staggering distance.

The Accommodation

The basic accommodation is in the Rydal Hall Youth Centre. This is a bunk barn sleeping approximately 30 people in two large rooms: one for men and the other for women. This relative austerity is good for the spirit (!) and in keeping with the nature of the course. If you would prefer to make your own arrangements, alternative accommodation is as follows.

Camping at Rydal Hall. 015394 32050. Approx £7* pppn

At Rydal Hall itself. 015394 32050. Approx £35* pppn excl breakfast (basic breakfast available with the course). Bathroom £6 extra pn. (also on www.rydalhall.org

The following B+Bs are within easy walking distance of the Hall:

Manor Cottage. 015394 31874. Vegetarian, non-smoking B+B. Rooms Approx £25* pppn incl breakfast. No en-suite.
Rydal Lodge. 015394 33208. Approx £28* pppn incl breakfast.

* 2007 prices

Meals

The course fee will include basic breakfasts (eg cereals, porridge, toast, tea and coffee). There are cooking facilities in the barn, a renovated café on site and, of course, the Lakeland pub. It is hoped that, as in 2007, we will be able to provide lunch and dinner in the barn. The cost of this in 2007 was £10.50 per day.

Dates

The course is from Monday 21st to Saturday 26th July, inclusive. The barn accommodation is booked from Sunday 20th to Sunday 27th (seven nights), to enable students to arrive on the Sunday afternoon and to leave on the morning of Sunday 27th.

The Cost

The total cost of the course is £450, including the basic accommodation, basic breakfasts, tea and coffee, and the group healing sessions.

There will be a £50 discount for those wishing to make their own accommodation arrangements.
